Background
The Vow for Kosen-rufu monument engraved at Hall of Great Vow for Kosen-rufu. Shinanomachi, Tokyo The lyrics of the song "Youth with a Noble Vow" were personally written by President Ikeda in 2014. The profound lyrics and the dynamic tempo were created in conjunction with the Soka Youth Meeting held in various places of Japan celebrating 3rd May 2014 as it was designated as "Year of Opening the New Era of Worldwide Kosen-rufu".
"Youth with a Noble Vow" was first performed on 19th April 2014 at the 5th Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting of the New Era of Worldwide Kosen-rufu at the Tokyo Toda Memorial Auditorium in Sugamo, Toshima Ward. It is a place that is deeply pervaded by the bond of oneness of mentor and disciple as Toshima was the site of the Tokyo Detention House where Mr Makiguchi and Mr Toda was incarcerated during World War II. It was also in this grand hall that President Ikeda led the fan dance in a chorus of the Gakkai’s "Song of Indomitable Dignity" in the tempestuous year of 1979 after he was forced to step down as the 3rd President of Soka Gakkai. The beginning of the lyrics "Youth with a noble vow, depart now" signals the start of the vigorous advancement towards Soka Youth General Meeting held in significance to the completion of the Hall of Great Vow for Kosen-rufu in November 2013 and the SGI year theme of 2014. Through the lyrics, President Ikeda calls out to his successors expressing the mentor’s expectation of the disciple to advance their profound mission of kosen-rufu with the noble vow. President Ikeda explained that the heart of the great vow for kosen-rufu and the life-state of Buddhahood are one and the same. As a matter of fact, those who dedicate their lives to this great vow possess the power to manifest the supreme nobility, strength and greatness from their lives. Likewise, they can also bring forth the limitless courage, wisdom and compassion of the Buddha from within, thereby enabling them to courageously brave through any tempest they may encounter in the course of their journey. The victory of the mentor and disciple adorns the eternity by joyfully initiating a fresh dynamic advance, spreading hope and justice towards a new era of worldwide kosen-rufu. The lyrics "World peace is created by friends of the world" concluded with "friends of the world" and comrades from 192 countries and territories singing joyously united in mind. With the determined voices of youth from all over the world, the new river of kosen-rufu will begin to flow powerfully. |

 池田会长高昂的带领学会歌东京 1999年3月 池田SGI会长为祝贺 “世界广布新时代 开幕之年” 的 “5.3 创价学会之日” ，特別亲笔写下新学会歌 －《立下誓愿的青年》。深渊的歌词和活跃的节奏陪伴着在日本各地为庆祝2014年5月3日而举行的创价青年总会。
《立下誓愿的青年》在2014年4月19日 ，位于东京巢鸭丰岛区的东京户田纪念讲堂举行的 “世界广布新时代第五回本部干部会” 隆重地发表。丰岛区是个弥漫着师弟深厚纽带的地方。因为牧口和户田会长在二战时，就被拘留在丰島区的东京拘留所。 在动荡的1979年时，池田会长被迫正式卸下创价学会第三代会长一职。被迫离职后，池田会长仍在户田纪念讲堂里，随着学会员的歌声而挥扇指挥学会歌《威风堂堂》。 “誓愿的青年此刻新出发” － 歌词的开端意味着蓬勃迈向创价青年总会而前进，也有着广宣流布誓愿堂在2013年11月的完成和SGI 2014年主题 “世界广布新时代 开幕之年” 之意义。 通过歌词，池田会长寄予恩师对弟子的期望，继承师匠的崇高誓愿而迈向广宣流布的使命。 池田会长教导，广宣流布崇高的誓愿与佛的境界是等同的。秉持誓愿而贯彻一生的人，必然能涌现崇高，强韧和伟大的生命力量。 同样的，他们也涌现无限的勇气，智慧和慈悲心，让他们能勇敢的面对任何人生的暴风雨。师弟胜利以喜悦的姿态，开启有着希望和正义的世界广布新时代。 “地球之和平在于世界之友” － 歌词的末端意味着来自192国家和区域的同志们异体同心喜悦的歌颂。 青年们高唱洋溢青春与決意的歌声，强而有力出发，朝向世界广布新时代阔步前进。 |
