Background
Ikeda Sensei plays the piano to encourage Nagata Culture Center, Kobein February 2000. Remembering the lyrics of the song when he started playing on the piano, the members of Hyogo, especially those of Nagata, were deeply moved. “Dainanko” (The Great Hero of Kusunoki), a song about a son making a solemn pledge as his father departs for the battlefield, was one of Toda Sensei’s favourite songs in that he felt its sentiments echoed those of our lofty Soka mentor-disciple spirit.
When he was alive, Toda Sensei would frequently ask the members of the young men’s division to sing this song. It told the story of the parting of the warrior chieftain Kusunoki Masashige and his eldest son Masatsura as the former prepared to leave for the Battle of Minatogawa to defend the imperial court in Kyoto from the invading forces of Ashikaga Takauji in 1336. As his army headed into the battle, where defeat was imminent, Masashige summoned his son to a place called Sakurai and urged him to return home. In one part of the song, the father Masashige gives his son Masatsura his sword as a keepsake and tells him to return to their village to take care of his mother. The sword here is a symbol of the mission entrusted to the son. But Masatsura was prepared to die with his father and refused to obey his father’s wishes. In the end, Masashige persuaded his son to go by saying that if they both were to die in the battle, Takauji would be left to rule the nation. He told Masatsura to live and grow into a fine man as quickly as possible so that he could serve his country. “Dainanko” expresses the spirit of a father filled with hopes that his son will survive and lose no time in developing his abilities so that he can accomplish great things. It also conveys the drama in which the son makes a pledge to his father. Toda Sensei regarded this song as exemplifying the spirit of mentor and disciple sharing the mission of kosen-rufu. That is why he often had youth division members sing it and would strictly critique their performance. In particular, he would ask each person again and again to sing the part that expressed Masatsura’s determination to join his father in fighting Takauji: “Father, no matter what you say, how could I desert you…” Toda Sensei would interrupt them as they sang and make comments, such as, “Your spirit is nothing like Masatsura’s! How can you fight for kosen-rufu with such an expression in your eyes! Look at me when you sing!” He was staunchly determined to train and foster youth of lion-like courage who would inherit their resolve to dedicate their lives for kosen-rufu. Ikeda Sensei explained the meaning that Toda Sensei gave for the words, “Quickly rise up and serve your lord, for the sake of your country.” He said it was that we should quickly develop ourselves into people who can contribute to kosen-rufu, become the core of the Soka Gakkai and great leaders. We should serve the people and humanity and work for the betterment of the world. It was to tell us to devote our lives to Buddhism and to carry out the Daishonin’s will and decree. Ikeda Sensei would often play this song on the piano to encourage members. In it contained his thoughts for his own mentor and was infused with his expectation for his disciples to live with a vow. Nothing can sever the strong bonds of mentor and disciple. The Mystic Law can only exist through mentor and disciple. Ikeda Sensei declared: “I feel the same about all of you. Please rise up quickly! As long as I am president, I will do my best to open the road ahead and make it possible for you to put the finishing touches on establishing the foundation of kosen-rufu… I hope you will strive to protect the Soka Gakkai and its members. I want you to advance with the strong determination that you have received the torch of kosen-rufu and are going to complete that noble endeavour.” |

背景
 池田先生用钢琴弹奏“大楠公“ 鼓励关西会友。他们对这位14世纪的关西英雄有特别的感触。（关西－2009年11月） 《大楠公》（英文别名《楠木的大英雄》），一首代表了儿子庄严给予父亲向战场启程之前承诺的歌，也是户田先生觉得能体现崇高的创价师弟精神而偏爱的一首歌。
在世时的户田先生经常要求男子部员唱这首歌。这首歌叙述了1336年间，为了力保身处京都的皇室而赴凑川与尊氏率领的东国大军决战的武将首领，楠木正成与长子楠木正行的生离死别。必然败北于作战凑川的正成，召唤儿子正行于樱井，力劝返回故乡。 歌曲段中，父亲正成付托儿子正行武剑作于信物，速速返回家乡照顾母亲。此武剑代表着付托于儿子的使命。 但是，正行立下于父亲共存亡的决心，没有顺从父亲意愿的想发。之后，正成以因两人双双战死而导致尊氏独揽天下为理由，开导正行保住活口，出色的成长，以便日后为国家效劳。 《大楠公》表述父亲给予儿子生存的期望，抓紧时机开展自身能力，以便成就大业。此歌也传达了儿子给予父亲承诺的剧情。 户田先生非常看待这寄托着广宣流布所含的师弟精神的歌。就因如此，他常让青年们唱，在歌唱方面更是严格指导。特别是，正行和父亲一同战死决心，唱出了 “父亲，无论如何，我怎能抛弃你而去。。。” 的那一段，一共让青年反复唱了好几回。户田先生说道：“你这种精神不是正行的！你怎能以那样的眼神奋战于广宣流布！唱时，眼神要看着我！” 户田先生拼了命，坚定不移地锻炼与培育青年，唤醒他们成为广布后续狮子般的勇气。 对户田先生引用 “为了国家，速速成长以便扶持君主” 这番话，池田先生做出以下解释。他比喻成我们必须抓紧时机，锻炼自身献于广宣流布，成为创价学会的核心，伟大的领导者。我们必须造福人民，利于百姓，为建设美好的世界努力。以相同的意愿，让我们务必舍身宏法，执行大圣人的意愿与旨意。 池田先生经常引用钢琴弹奏这首曲子, 激励及鼓励会员。歌曲中填满了对师匠户田先生的牵挂，也注入了自身师匠对于弟子誓愿的期望。 师弟之间坚强的纽带是不能扭断的。妙法只能共存于师弟。 池田先生言：“我对你们也应如此。请速速立起！只要我任是会长，我将竭尽所能开拓眼前的道路，允许你们完成奠定广宣流布的基础。。。我期望你们会全力保护创价学会与会员们。我要你们以坚定的信念，接棒广宣流布的火炬，完成这伟大尊贵的壮举。” |
